Lash Growth/Latisse
Overview
Gone are the days when people with thin or sparse eyelashes (hypotrichosis) had to rely on makeup, extensions, or false lashes. LATISSE—the first and only FDA-approved prescription treatment for inadequate eyelashes—makes thicker, longer, and darker lashes possible from your own natural growth. At Le Nouveau Belle, our team prescribes and supervises LATISSE so you can achieve consistent, real-world results.
What Is LATISSE and How It Works
LATISSE is a bimatoprost 0.03% ophthalmic solution. Bimatoprost was originally developed to treat glaucoma, where physicians noticed an unexpected side effect: longer, thicker, darker lashes. LATISSE harnesses that effect deliberately by extending the lash growth (anagen) phase, increasing the number of hairs growing at one time, and stimulating the lash follicle to produce a fuller, darker hair.
Applied once nightly to the upper lash line with a sterile applicator, LATISSE works gradually over weeks—so consistency matters.
What to Expect
- Weeks 4 — first signs of longer lashes
- Weeks 8 — increased thickness and darkness
- Weeks 16 — full results, including increased length, thickness, and darkness
Once you’ve achieved the look you want, your provider will guide you on a maintenance routine—often every other night—to preserve results.
Who Is a Candidate?
- Adults with thin or sparse lashes (hypotrichosis)
- Patients tired of mascara, extensions, or false lashes
