Laser Hair Removal

Overview

Persistent hair growth can be a challenge, despite traditional methods like waxing, shaving, or tweezing. At Le Nouveau Belle, our FDA-approved laser hair removal treatment offers a long-lasting solution for unwanted facial and body hair—so you can put down the razor and the wax pot for good.

How Laser Hair Removal Works

Laser hair removal targets melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle. A concentrated beam of light passes through the surface of the skin and is selectively absorbed by the dark pigment in the hair shaft. The light energy converts to heat, which damages the hair follicle and disrupts its growth cycle. Over a series of treatments, the follicle’s ability to produce new hair is permanently reduced.

Because the laser targets actively growing follicles, multiple sessions spaced 4—8 weeks apart are required to catch every hair in its growth phase.

What to Expect

Before

Avoid sun exposure, self-tanner, and waxing/plucking for at least 2 weeks before treatment. Shave the area 24 hours before your appointment so the laser can target the follicle below the skin surface.

During

Most sessions take 15—45 minutes depending on the area. You’ll wear protective eyewear; the device delivers cooled pulses that most patients describe as a quick rubber-band snap.

After

Mild redness or warmth is normal and resolves within hours. Hair will appear to “fall out” over the next 1—3 weeks. Use SPF 30+ daily and avoid sun exposure between sessions.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Most patients require 6—8 sessions spaced 4—8 weeks apart for optimal long-term hair reduction. Maintenance sessions once or twice a year may be helpful for hormonal areas like the face. Your provider will customize a plan during your consultation.
