Botox

Overview

Botox is a well-known cosmetic injectable renowned for its efficacy in addressing fine lines and wrinkles. Derived from a purified form of botulinum toxin type A (originally produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum), Botox is a premier choice for individuals seeking facial rejuvenation that looks natural and refreshed—not frozen.

At Le Nouveau Belle, our certified injectors customize every Botox treatment to your unique facial anatomy, expression patterns, and aesthetic goals.

How Botox Works

Botox is a neuromodulator. When injected in tiny, precise amounts, it temporarily relaxes the underlying muscles that create dynamic wrinkles—lines that appear when you frown, squint, or raise your brows. With those muscles in a relaxed state, the overlying skin smooths out, and over time, the formation of new lines is slowed.

Because the effect is targeted to the specific muscles your injector treats, surrounding facial movement remains natural.

Areas Botox Can Treat

  • Forehead lines (horizontal forehead wrinkles)
  • Frown lines / glabellar lines (the “11s” between the brows)
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Bunny lines along the nose
  • Gummy smile correction
  • Dimpled chin (cobblestone chin)
  • Vertical neck bands (platysmal bands)
  • Vertical lip lines and downward-turning mouth corners
  • Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of the underarms, palms, or feet)

Benefits Beyond Wrinkles

  • Reduces dynamic wrinkles and fine lines
  • Prevents the formation of new wrinkles
  • Controls excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
  • Treats chronic migraines and tension headaches
  • Alleviates jaw tension and bruxism (TMJ)
  • FDA-approved for multiple cosmetic and medical indications

What to Expect

Before

Your appointment begins with a consultation. Your injector evaluates your facial movement, discusses your goals, and identifies the precise muscles to treat. Avoid blood-thinners (alcohol, ibuprofen, fish oil) for 24—48 hours before treatment to minimize bruising.

During

The treatment itself takes 10—15 minutes. Botox is delivered with an ultra-fine needle in small, precise amounts. Most patients describe the sensation as a quick pinch.

After

There is essentially no downtime. You can return to work or daily activities immediately. Avoid lying down, exercising vigorously, or rubbing the treated areas for the first 4 hours.

Results and Longevity

Results begin to appear within 3—5 days, with full effect visible at 10—14 days. Botox typically lasts 3—4 months, though longevity varies by individual metabolism, dose, and treatment area. Many patients schedule maintenance treatments every 3—4 months for continuous results.

Individual results vary. Your provider will discuss a realistic outlook during your consultation.
