BOTOX Cosmetic is onabotulinumtoxinA injection which is an acetylcholine release inhibitor and a neuromuscular blocking agent. It is indicated for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe forehead lines, crow’s feet lines, and frown lines between the eyebrows in adults.

Botox Cosmetic is injected into the muscles to paralyze specific facial muscles, immobilizing the muscle for three to four months. As a result of the muscle not moving, the skin lying on top of the muscle relaxes and wrinkles fade. The effect is a rested and more youthful appearance.

Over several months as the muscle action gradually returns and lines reappear, a follow up  treatment is all that is necessary to regain the desired result. Botox is a non-surgical treatment performed in our office. It takes only minutes to perform the injections, and usually brings results as soon as 4-5 days and up to 2 weeks.
