Facial redness? Broken skin capillaries? Sun-induced brown spots or age spots?

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) is a non-invasive laser treatment that uses multiple wavelengths of light to treat various skin conditions, including brown pigmentation, age spots, rosacea, and broken blood vessels. IPL may be used on the face, hands, neck, and décolletage.

Your Treatment
As you receive gentle pulses of light on your skin, you may feel some stinging or sharp feeling, similar in sensation to the snapping of a small rubber band against the skin.
Treatments usually take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on which area is being treated.

Your Recovery
Recovery time is a couple of days, depending on treatment intensity.
Brown spots may appear darker for a few days and then peel off.
You may experience no peeling or mild peeling, similar to that of a sunburn. New skin shows a reduction in dark pigmentation, redness, and broken capillaries.

Next Steps
Sun protection with SPF 30 or greater.
In general patients have a series of three to six treatments, approximately one month apart. Most people complete a series monthly treatments and then return for a maintenance treatment once or twice a year.
